Whitney Part 1

I have to give both Whitney and Oprah props. To Oprah because she conducted a very good interview and because Miss Houston was so open!!!! I didn’t expect her to be so forthright with the information; it just goes to show we really don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.

Part 1 focused on her tumultuous relationship with Bobby Brown. We all know that we do some crazy things when we are “in love” how we compromise and put up with some ish that we really shouldn’t put up with. You know how it is; you meet your Superman that has that kryptonite power that weakens you lol lol. Bless Whitney she really stood by her man for better and for worse at least she took her wedding vows seriously as she stated in the interview.

What gets me is the amount of celebrities that take some form of drugs whether it is alcohol, pills, cocaine etc. Look at the likes of Amy Winehouse, Jimmy Hendrix, Maia Campbell (although she allegedly has bi-polar) Britney Spears the list is endless. Is life so lonely at the top? Is it because they have no one around them to keep them grounded? Is the amount of money coming in too much or is it down to the people they surround themselves with? I think the latter plays a big part as your environment and friends will eventually determine who you are!

I look forward to viewing part two…..check out part 1 here

My one year anniversary of NYC

This time last year I was experiencing the time of my life working in New York for 5 weeks- hoody hoooooo! Little did I realise how this trip would change my life in such a big way. I learnt so much about my character; my strengths and weaknesses, my confidence grew and most importantly it enforced that I can do anything I put my mind to by the grace of god!

You know how it goes you never seem to really appreciate things until it’s too late/or they've gone. It was not until the 4th/5th week that I began to settle into the big apple and finally got to grips with walking around the grid system lol, meeting new people, trying new foods and then bang it's time to go home. So much so I was bawling on the plane home (side-eye) REAL TALK!

My biggest regret is that I don’t feel I gave it a real go whilst out there. I just coasted and faded into the background- tut!! Unfortunately fear got the better of me, that's why I have decided to do what ever it takes to raise the cash and go and spend 3 months out there next year. All I can do is trust in god and start to prepare myself mentally and physically for the challenge ahead....NYC Here I come!!!!!!!!!!!

I want me some....

Okay so I've tried to resist and I've prayed and I can't fight it anymore I want me some thigh high boots! I'm not fussed whether they have a heel or they're flat I just want a pair. I never thought I would want a pair of these booties but I've been converted. I always associate them with a certain type of women (no name calling allowed) but they are the boot that every woman across the globe will be wearing this autumn. It all depends what you team them with, which will determine what class you'll be bracketed in.

These boots are FIERCE, sexy and slightly dangerous. A few rules to adhere too...

* If you opt for a leather pair DO NOT team with anything else leather
* keep accessories to a minimum your boots will make enough of a statement
* opt out of buying a patent pair
* try not to team with a short skirt- may look trashy
* team with leggings, skinny jeans, and jumper dresses

Ya'll don't know bout the Jigga Man..

Thanks to my side-kick who brought my attention to this classic video of Sean Carter. This is a live performance from Notting Hill Carnival back in 1997 and I'm sure you can tell from the Jigga Man's attire that this old school. This same friend of mine highlighted Jay Z's "church shoes" as she quoted too much joke! Those shoes are killing me softly lol lol... which rapper wears shoes, shirt and trousers to perfom in?!?!? No homie it's trainers and jeans all the way B-A-B-Y! Jay Z 's even sproting a doo-rag and a pair of earrings. Jay Z don't even wear earrings anymore he's too much of an accomplised businessman for that (not saying businessmen don't wear earrings or do they?). Oh how we all grow and our style changes over the years.

Should I buy a pair of Dr Martens (boots)?

Only Amber Rose could carry off this look, this chick is FIERCE!!!! This is not a new picture but home girl has left me wondering whether I want to purchase a pair of Dr Martens hmmm. It's funny as the general rule for leggings is you would/should wear a long top to cover the derriere but not our Amber. She is in a league of her own lol. I've said it before and I'll say it again once you have established the hair everything else will fall into place- TRUST ME! Look at Amber Rose and Rhianna...I say no more.

Oh Chris....

I’m still left scratching my head after watching the Chris Brown interview! I really don’t think partaking in this made any difference to the current situation. I think he should have just left it at the late public apology (side-eye). As the Bishop at my church always say’s… silence can never be misquoted.

This interview didn’t really answer any questions, it went on for too long and the lawyer more or less spoke for him and why was his mother there?!?!? Unfortunately we are a nosey society and everybody wants to know what truly happened that night. Maybe for legal reasons and respect for Rhianna as he quoted he can’t get into it. At least he addressed certain issues (sort-of) and hopefully we can all move on.

Larry King did not go easy on young Chris he had my man all twitching and looking perplexed…like huh!!! Time has passed now and I’m sure Chris is remorseful. Everyone makes mistakes once in a while some bigger than others and Chris is now dealing with the consequences of his actions. I guess all we can do now is to stop making judgements and leave them to live their life.

The Blueprint 3

I took a sneak peek at Jay Z's The Blueprint 3 album and off my first initial listen it's not too bad. I can honestly say I didn't skip a track; the beats are infectious and will sure enough get you tapping your toes in no time. There is a handful of artist appearances including Pharell, Alicia Keys, Drake (don't believe the hype) Kanye West to name a few.

I have not taken the time to decipher the lyrics yet but on production/beats alone the album is good! Is this album more commercial compared to previous Jay Z outings...of course! None the less Jay Z fans will not be disappointed. My favourite tracks so far are Haters, Off That, Empire State of Mind (I heart NY), Venus vs. Mars chah I like the whole album apart from all the profanities. I swear my ears are getting more sensitive the older I get.
