Saturday Throwback!

You know how it is when you start to blow the dust off your CD's and reminisce on certain tracks; I had to get the cassette out for this one! This song reminds me of summer days, my youth and my first crush. I so heart this Zhane track which came out in 1997.

I remember it so well, these were the days when I was still trying to convince myself that I wanted to be in a girl group. My friend and I would sing this song con-stant-ly (in Eddie Murphy's voice). We would go to a make- shift studio and rehearse “Crush”. There was one occasion when it was our time to sing and I became all shy and dropped the line "I don't think my mic is working"! I got the side-eye from every one in that room along with the response "yes the mic is working, don't try it" shame!

This track is great! I love the lyrics, the harmonies, and the whole ambience. My only peeve is that it’s too short; it's a timeless classic regardless. What ever happened to Zhane?!?! What ever happened to music???

Primarni Haulage

I mentioned the biker glove late last year and I recommend you invest in a pair. These gloves are NOT for practicality but simply to make a statement. So if it's minus seven degrees outside don't wear these gloves lol. I own a red, yellow and purple pair- good times! They will jazz up any winter black coat and are the equivalent of having your finger nails painted in the summer. I'm going to wear these with either my black, grey or yellow coat- POW! If you want to play the safe card buy a black pair-boring! Although I suggest choosing a colour, that way you will stand out from the crowd.
Gloves £7

Brogues are still going strong so I decided to invest in this patent pointy pair. I'm not sure how long this trend is going to last so chose not to spend any big time money (these cost me £8). I so love these shoes which also come in white. They can be teamed with a pair of skinny/straight jeans rolled up for extra emphasis on your footwear. Or an every day dress, floral, or block colours will look nice. Of course you can't go wrong with a bubble/ denim skirt and a long tee, vest or checked shirt. You can even rock them with leggings; brogues are the new ballet pumps- TRUST ME!
Brogues £8

The skinny belt is a must have! Especially if you buy from Primani they'll cost the minimum of £1 a pop, what is that? That's cheaper than a Starbucks lol. This belt is quite dressy and I may wear it over a coat or a nice evening dress. It’s also high waisted so it will really add the finishing touches to my look. Of course there are less formal options than the one in the picture. The skinny belt looks great over a long cardigan, dress or skirt and for extra oomph you should team up two different colour/style skinny belts at the same time. Damn you'll look like you just stepped off the catwalk.
Belt £2

Run This Town Spoof

I don't normally post more than one video a day but I couldn't resist putting this one up. Affion Crockett you are a very funny guy! This skit had me bussing up, it is tooooo funny lol lol..it's the Kanye impression at the end!

Beyonce Speaks...NOT!!

This chick really did give me joke on this Tuesday afternoon. Here she is impersonating Beyonce Knowles's response to Kanye West's behaviour at the 2009 VMA's. Very funny!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These shoes go beyond FIERCE. They’re created by Nicholas Kirkwood and I spotted them on Stuff Fly People Like blog page. Would I rock them...probably yes! Do I love them...not really no, but as I’m learning you sometimes have to break the rules and take a risk when it comes to fashion. These killer heels would sure enough stop the DJ in mid flow during his set at a party if you bowled in with these sky scrapers.
Amber- Fierce-Rose eat your heart out. Ladies do we love them????

The Worlds Strictest Parents!

This programme lived up to its title. Each week focuses on a pair of spoilt unruly teenagers whose parents have had enough of their lip service and bad attitude and send them off to get some manners. Tuesday’s episode saw teen's Charlotte and Sam sent off to Jamaica (don’t ramp). Now obviously these kids thought it would be all fun and games and thought the Caribbean was going to be like the Sandals advert that we see on the TV – err no!!!!!!!!

They went to live with a Christian family and experienced the school system for a week and soon learnt that they get away with murder here in the UK. The school teachers and guardians weren’t tolerating any foolishness and disciplined them well. They didn’t even need to raise their voice. The school practiced safe sex which meant NO sex in their eyes. You know how promiscuous kids are generally today. It really got me thinking about the society we live in and how things have changed since my childhood.

My school era didn’t include boyfriends and when I did have a sneaky one oh how things were different. None of this giving out my phone number as I didn’t have a mobile and giving out the house number was not an option -you mad! He wasn’t even allowed in the house and would talk to me on the doorstep standard! Even then my mom didn't know who he really was. I didn't appreciate the strict regime then but I sure do now. These kids have it way too easy!!!

Next weeks teens are going to Ghana….ooooh there going to give it to dem! Catch it next Tuesday on BBC One from 22:35 onwards.

FIERCE SHOES! (minus the string)

Yes, yes I have brought yet another pair of shoes (side-eye). A woman can never have too many shoes....well they can. I've had my eye on these beauties since the beginning of the year. They are the Gucci Iman shoes and I blogged about them months ago. Now obviously mine are not designer but a cheaper alternative.

Matalan stocked them in a black patent and metallic grey/silver colour for £16 but I missed the boat. Then I noticed Peacocks were stocking them in Navy Blue, Fuchsia Pink and White. I tried them on umpteen times but told myself K-Hart “fall back.... you don't need any more shoes”. So I did what most woman do and looked at them longingly every time I walked past the shop window lol. However I took farce yesterday and popped into Peacocks just to see what their shoe section was saying and lo and behold theses shoes had gone down from £20 to £10 hoooody hoooooo. Of course I didn't hesitate and literally ran to the till with my babies.

How to wear these shoes....

* DO NOT wear with jeans (not even skinnies) as the main focus of these shoes is the ankle buckle detail.

* If you choose to wear them with leggings change up the colour i.e. mine are blue so I can get away with black leggings and a nice black top. If you buy a black pair team with non black leggings for a bit of variety.

* team them with a skirt (tulip, pencil), dress, harem pants or any form of cropped trousers. REMEMBER the key is to show off the buckle detail.

* These shoes are quite dressy so don't bring them down with casual attire

* Rock these shoes with pride...I sure will!
